Unfinished Business, five soulful musicians who met each other roaming the hallways of the Antwerp Conservatory. Ever since, they have been a staple of the sonic landscape of the city. Their dynamic repertoire is hard to categorise.With strong roots in jazz, and influences from rock, funk and fusion, they produce a sound in which the echoes of the classics fuse with visions of the future. Instantly audible, their Business is Unfinished!
The harmonic structures of their compositions contain space for improvisation and enable them to keep the mixture of styles vital, fresh and crisp. Evolving and growing together since schooldays, the band achieved a hive mind, resulting in a sound providing the utmost pleasant listening experience.
YENTL
Where modern jazz,
folklore, and poetry meet.
YENTL is a music project founded by vocalist and composer Yentl Verborgt. With the help of wonderful musicians Wout Gooris on piano, Jeroen Reggers on guitar, Jasper De Roeck on double bass, and Jesse Dockx on drums she brings original compositions and arrangements to life.
YENTL is all about creating a unique atmosphere. The band takes the listener on a musical journey through lyrical melodies, intimate stories, and improvisation. All set against a backdrop of groove and rhythms. During their performances, the band seamlessly blends delicate moments with edgier, more experimental sounds.
At the heart of the music lies a deep sense of reflection, dreams, and searching and finding. Yentl’s compositions draw inspiration from ECM albums by artists like Anders Jormin and Kenny Wheeler. You can also recognize strong influences from the music of Ambrose Akinmusire and Joni Mitchell.
Naar het voorbeeld van het Vanguard Jazz Orchestra in de Village Vanguard of het Paradox Jazz Orchestra in Paradox in Tilburg, heeft de Hnita Big Band de Hnita Jazz Club als uitvalsbasis. Onder leiding van Dree Peremans (Rebirth::Collective, VRT Bigband, BoomBigBand…) worden een aantal vaste waarden van de Belgische jazzscene samengebracht met jong aanstormend talent. Opzet is dat ze elke tweede zondag van de maand in de club repeteren aan bestaand repertoire en dat meteen ook presenteren aan het publiek.

MUZE JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Het verhaal van MJO, voluit Muze Jazz Orchestra, begint in 2010. Gitarist Marco Cirone en saxofonist Lieven Cambré slaan de handen in elkaar om het kruim van de Limburgse jazzscene samen te brengen. Cultuurcentrum MUZE in Heusden-Zolder blijkt hiervoor de perfecte uitvalsbasis: directeur Tom Michielsen is meteen gewonnen voor het idee. Het Muze Jazz Orchestra is een feit.
Met The Whistlewood ball slaan we alweer een nieuwe weg in!
Een unieke samenwerking tussen een mini bigband en de noiserockband The Guru Guru die hun artistieke wensen in handen leggen van componist en muzikant Lennert Baerts. Hoewel Muze Jazz Orchestra en The Guru Guru in andere muzikale tradities bewegen, delen ze een passie voor fantasierijke verhalen en theatrale elementen.
